Scott Kelby
Section 1: Brief Biography
Scott Kelby was born on 1960 in Lakeland, Florida. Currently he is famous for being a Photoshop Insider basically meaning that he writes or designs training photography software, but all in all he is a photographer. His occupation includes being the president and CEO of KelbyOne; and the editor and the publisher of the Photoshop User Magazine. Kelby has a love for sports and traveling that he has taken many pictures, and probably edited them, to show his admiration for it. Kelby also like to take pictures of women in their wedding dress, this is probably because one of his greatest thrill was when he saw his wife walking down the isle to marry him.
Section 2: Artwork
Something to note about Kelby's artwork is that he takes a lot of horizontal shots. When it comes to his travel shot he uses leading lines that visually lead you into the distance, formal balance to show the symmetry of the area, ,and sharp focus making you see every detail of the area he took a picture of. When it comes to taking pictures of people he uses close-ups of the model, high or low key lighting to set the tone of the picture, and he plays with all kinds of different angles or distance of the model whether it's a faraway shot that angled up or if it's medium shot that is angled down.
Section 3: Analysis
1.

2.

3.

4.

5.

1. I love the leading lines in this picture and the wide open area is pretty breathtaking. I like to think it's the sunrise of a long trip.
2. I like how the model follows the rule of thirds and that it is in a worm's eye view, it makes it a very interesting picture. Overall I like how simple it is just the sky and the model.
3. This picture being in black and white gives it a serious mood like he has gone through a break-up and the only thing that soothe his heart is playing the piano.
4. This is probably my favorite picture of his because I love the water reflecting the house almost looking like glass you can walk on. I love the colors of yellow and blue representing the an early afternoon feel.
5. I like how the picture gives a formal balance, everything is pretty classy and refined.
Section 4: Plan
I used a background that could represent the traveling that Kelby does. Then I used three photos from his travel category gave them a white border to make it more like a Polaroid picture. Finally, I used Charlemagne Std font because it look similar to the word in the background.
